+ The Center for Molecular Analysis of Disease Pathways, an NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) under the directorship of Dr. Sue Lunte, has received 11 million grant (KU News). The KU Genomics Facility is an integral part of the Model Organism and Genomics Core of the Center. Next-Generation Sequencing capability is acquired and supported through the center. (Sep 2012)

+ Kansas Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (KIDDRC) has been awarded $7 million grant from the NIH. KIDDRC provides strong support to this Facility. (Oct 2011)

+ KU Alzheimer's Disease Center (ADC) receives $6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This Facility provides support for the Mitochondrial Genomics and Metabolism (MGM) core of the KU ADC. (Aug 2011)

+ Celebrate Human Genome's 10th Anniversary!

This February (2011) is the 10th anniversary of the draft human genome sequence published in 2001. Both Science and Nature have their special series on this momentous achievement. Check out these special series (Science and Nature) to see what we have accomplished in the last 10 years, and ponder for new discoveries to be made in the next 10 years. GeneChip System

Sample Prep

- Affymetrix GeneChip-based microarray gene expression profiling, for broad applications such as pharmacogenomics and toxicogenomics

- SNP (single nucleotide polymorphisms) based whole-genome association studies

- Real-time quantititative PCR for nucleic acid sequence detection and quantitation

- High-throughput genomics data generation, curation, biological knowledge extraction

- Integration with high-throughput proteomics data through bioinformatics algorithms
